As I sit here wrapped in coils of incense smoke, enveloped by the magical scents of lavender and patchouli, I find myself unable to resist sharing my visions for the coming Fall season with you, my favorite reader. My silky scarves rustle and my golden coin bracelets jangle as I wave my hands over my crystal ball to bring you my Top Five Predictions for Fall 2010.

1. Back to the future. The '80's, those glorious days of riotous color, eye-dazzling neons, purple eyeshadow with blue (yes blue!)liner, and that unabashed feeling of fun will be back! Look for strong eyes with soft, natural lips. Purple, green and blue, we aren't afraid of your boldness; bring it on!

2. Tickle my fancy with feathers, feminity and fluff. Pair that gorgeous peacock feather headband with a fitted ruffled shirt and a cropped wooly jacket. The contrast of silk against tweed, and girly details against menswear tailoring will be certain to turn heads.

3. What about the boys? If going back into the 1980's isn't quite radical enough for you, how about going back to the 90's? The 1890's, that is. Gentlemen's fashion will get a robust infusion of haberdashery this winter, strongly influenced by our bowler wearing great great grandfathers, with a fresh modernity. Compliment his look with gorgeous shampoos, shaving acoutrements and skin care in vintage style packaging such as John Allan's male grooming line. Who knows? They may even start opening doors and throwing coats over puddles for us again.

4. Androgeny, androgeny, thy name is woman. Even though that allusion is horribly wrong, you should be on the lookout for femine cuts with boyish charm. Trend Zoom, the hottest show in the professional haircare industry showcased the future of color and cut on an international scale. It would be hard to miss the chic little crops with the bold plums, futuristic blondes, and earthy ecopolitan color. A big fall/winter wow!

5. And now, for the final prediction for the ultimate accessory of 2010. It's something that never goes out of style. You're never too young or too old to sport it. Size 0 or size 3xx, it's a perfect fit. Blonde, brunette, redhead, or bald it's so you. My crystal ball is indicating this freebie is The It bling of the year. It's your smile. Spread a little sunshine to everyone you meet, and you'll be facing a fab future. Now there's one prediction I can guarantee.
